Enjoy Thanksgiving. Stay Home. Get Sleep...then Think about Shopping

BiddingForGood Charitable CommerceAs we head into a season of higher than normal consumption, we are blinded by the constant stream of retailer ads. After all the Thanksgiving cooking, cleaning, and entertaining is done, we no longer relish in a few hours of rest and relaxation. Stores aggressively lure us in for Black Friday sales between the hours of midnight and 4:00am, depriving most of us our much needed sleep. Panic sets in.

Before you rush out in your pajamas with credit card and promotion coupons in hand, ask yourself, “Do I really need to be doing this?”  I realize you may not like my answer, “No, you don’t.”  There is always Cyber-Monday, but let’s be honest, it is the same thing as Black Friday, just online.

Why not shop at a place where shopping always feels good, regardless of what day or time of year. BiddingForGood has amazing items including luxurious handbags, iPhones and Kindles. More unique to the site is the availability to purchase gifts which create memories of a lifetime.  Looking for hard to get Bruins or Patriots tickets?  Check out BiddingForGood.com.  Once there, you will find hard to get concert tickets, luxurious trips to Mexico and VIP wine excursions through Napa Valley. If we are going to splurge, it would be nice to build long-lasting memories.  With BiddingForGood, you can create holiday memories AND help a cause at the same time.

I would like to point out an interesting fact; if you purchase an item that “gives back” from a retailer this holiday season, you are not “giving’ as much as you think.  Retailers often donate a portion of profits.  This means if you purchase an item for $100, maybe $0.10 to $1.00 will be going back to a charity…this is being generous.  When you purchase a $100 item on BiddingForGood, at least $91.00 will go back to the cause. See the difference?

In between cleaning my house, picking up Legos and entertaining, I have had time look back at the past few weeks at BiddingForGood. BiddingForGood employees have put forth their best effort by putting in extra hours, rigorous travel schedules, and for some, many sleepless nights.  Why, you ask?  The answer is simple and honest.  All of us here care about our company and are passionate about the work we do.

I am reminded the funds raised on our site will help feed families, keep children warm, change the fate of a homeless puppy, assist those stricken with incurable diseases, and provide much needed funds for education.

So, this Thanksgiving, I am thankful for my healthy and beautiful family. I am thankful for the abundance of food on my table and a roof over my head. I am thankful for being a part of a company which helps so many and I am thankful for the existence of the organizations who execute all the hard work with a big heart.

Enjoy your Thanksgiving.  No, REALLY enjoy your Thanksgiving.  Stay in bed and get a good night’s sleep.  BiddingForGood will be there in the morning and every one after that.  Be well rested and “Shop for a Cause.”

From me to all of you, Happy Thanksgiving.
